Things continue to be busy with Healthcare Solutions – A Christian Ministry. As always, I thank you for your interest, prayers and support.

This month, I must start out with asking for your prayers for this ministry. God has sustained me and carried me through over seven years of ministry to the elderly and disabled in the Greater New Orleans area. You are all aware of the physical limitations that have haunted me for the last year or so. Please pray that God would renew my physical strength and determination at this time. I am certain this horrible heat wave we are having has a tremendous effect on me. I am hopeful that it will pass soon – for it is very difficult for me to function properly and effectively these days. Please also pray for how I encounter and interact with the people God has given me to serve. Pray that my words might be sweeter than honey and that I might present Christ to each person I serve. For the ultimate goal in all I do is for people to know Christ and the love He has for them. I share His love by serving their needs.

With that being said here is an update on the people I am currently serving.

My lady who is moving into Christopher Homes ended up in the hospital and her move has been delayed. The doctor told her she could not be alone for a few weeks. She has diabetes and that seems to be at the center of the need for hospitalization. She lives with her children and wants desperately to be back in a place of her own. Please pray that her diabetes stabilizes and that she can move into her apartment.

The lady who completed radiation continues to have some emotional issues. As we all have had in our lives – she is having family issues that weigh heavy on her heart. Someone was very unkind to her and that really puts her into a deep depression and increased anxiety. On top of that, she got her medications mixed up again. While I was hopeful that she could do it herself, it is now apparent that I will have to put out her medications for her. I always try to push my clients to be as independent as possible. In this lady’s case, she is young – so, it is hard for her to accept that she cannot be trusted to handle her medication. She accepts it, but it disturbs her. Please pray that she might be freed of anxiety. Also pray that we might find some areas of socialization for her. We both realize this is a need. She falls between the cracks with qualifying for services that provide transportation because she is too young.

Buying a house is a huge thing. And now I know why God prevented me from doing so myself. I am now responsible for handling all the business matters as it pertains to the lady who bought her house. Please pray that God would give me supernatural patience with this lady. In my effort to push her to be more independent, it seems she wants to be more and more dependent upon me for the tiniest details of her life. The more I push her to do things that she is capable of, the more she pulls closer to me and does not want to do anything on her own. We discussed this with her psychiatrist this week. We all agree that there is no dementia here and it is not a medication issue either. Please pray that she might be freed of her anxiety and insecurities. Pray that I hear clearly from God on how to deal appropriately with her.

I am working with a lady who has been told by her doctors that she cannot drive again until she retakes the test. He has cleared her medically but has documented in her record that she has to take the test. Please pray for me as well as the other friends in her life that she might come to accepting the fact that she should not be driving. It is a hard thing to come to and I feel bad for her that she is facing this. She really is doing well physically and is the product of one of the biggest miracles I have ever seen. Pray that her eyes be open to God’s presence and power in her life.

The lady who was resisting my help is doing much better with accepting my presence in her life. At this point, she pretty much has to as the doctors have told her not to walk unless absolutely necessary. She has some wounds on her feet that need to heal. We have been working on some delicate issues in her life and she is coming around to accepting what she knows she really needs to do. Please pray that she might see her need for God in her life. Pray that she sees Jesus in me and that she comes to know Him in a real and personal way. Please also pray for peace within her family as they also love and care for her.

I lost another client a few weeks ago. This lady had elective surgery for hernia repair. Complications arose and she ended up in ICU. Her heart and kidneys just could not handle the stress. Please pray for her son. He is having a hard time with this along with having a hard time with life in general. He admitted that he was not there for his mother as he should have been. I think this weighs heavy on him. Pray that somehow through all this he and his family would come to know Jesus in a real way. There also arose problems with the staff at the hospital. I am praying about whether or not to meet with Administration to report these issues. My goal would have to been in order to prevent such problems from happening with other patients at this hospital. Please pray for clarity for me as I consider this endeavor.

The other lady that was in the hospital went home after only a couple of days. She ended up having a bleeding ulcer. Can you imagine? 94 years old with a bleeding ulcer! And what amazes me is she is so demented, I don’t know how that could happen! But, she is back in the nursing home and seems to be holding her own. Please pray for her daughter that she might accept the fact that her mother could die any day now. They have never lived apart and I know this is going to be a tremendous loss for her.

Again, thank you for your care and consideration. As always, there are financial needs. I am so grateful to God for His continued provisions. Right now, there is a need for about $1,500 to carry me through the month of August. Please consider a tax-deductible donation. You will be blessed as you give faithfully to God’s work.

I pray that “the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation of the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power.” Ephesians 1:17-19
