I read a meditation recently that really struck home and caused me to take heed in my own life. I will share a portion of what I read.

“With this picture in mind, God began teaching me about being an aroma of Christ. … my biggest struggle is still in ‘doing’ for the Lord instead of just ‘being’ totally consumed by Him. The word missionary implies ‘doing.’ Even in the newsletters that I send …, I focus on what we’ve done, and I certainly don’t report how I smell! I’ve learned that I try to live up to expectations of others. It’s a real struggle. … God does not measure success as we do. He wants to see a heart that has been conformed to the image of Christ. We are not to abide in Christ so that we get results in our work. We are to abide in Christ so that we are transformed into His image; we begin to look, sound and, yes, even smell like Him.” (From Voices of The Faithful by Beth Moore)

I know people don’t necessarily see me as a missionary. But, the reality is, I am. Very different from your typical (or stereotypical) definition of missionary. But, nonetheless, that is what I am. And so this meditation has caused me to ask the questions “Do I smell like Christ? Do people see, hear and smell Christ as I minister to them? Am I so caught up in doing that I am not being what He wants me to be?”

So, this month my ministry update is very different.

I continue to work with a few clients. The magnitude of my work is much slower due to my physical limitations. I do a lot of phone consulting and have had a few appointments for basic advice and direction. I have been constantly and with every opportunity sharing Christ with everyone I come in contact with.

I praise God for a large, unexpected donation. He always comes through and I am ever so grateful. The reality is – that donation helped me to catch up and stay current. My car is in the shop today and that will cost $1,000. I am grateful to have the funds. However, the need is still there for donations to continue God’s work. Please prayerfully consider a donation.

I covet your support and prayers. May God bless each and every one of you.
