There has been a lot of activity since my last update. It has been a little over a month and I have done the following in that time:
Over 30 doctor appointments; Over 10 medication runs; Over 55 miscellaneous appointments – this can mean Wal Mart with a client, labs, non-doctor appointments with clients, vet visits, etc.; One ER visit; Three Hospital Visits; One Funeral
A client lost a son this month. It is so sad to see an 80 something year old have to bury the fourth of her five children. She was by his side when he passed away. For that I am grateful to God. I am also grateful for her granddaughter who came in from Atlanta and facilitated all the arrangements. It is nice to see a supportive family.
I helped a young woman (29 years old) apply for disability for her 29 year old husband.
I have had to sever ties with one lady. This is always a hard decision. She continued to drink alcohol and take pain meds. She almost died this time. As hard as it is, I cannot participate in helping her get pain medication if she is not responsible in taking it.
I have a client from Cuba. She has been here for many years. Her resident card expired. I have found an agency that will help pay for and facilitate that application. However, we needed her birth certificate. Between the language barrier and the fact that she went blind in one eye, we were having a hard time. Day before yesterday, I took the time to search her small apartment. She let me push the issue in her closets. In the last one, there on the top shelf carefully placed in a plastic envelope was everything we needed! Talk about a big “Thank You Lord.”
The Lord has continued to provide for me through so many of you. The monthly need is about $2,500. Please prayerfully consider a donation. The information is below.
